Thirteen-year-old Bernadette Crowley has a problem with demons. As the youngest in a long line of blood witches, demons used to be no big deal. But that was before Ber was diagnosed with diabetes. Now, each time she tests her blood sugar, accidental demons are slipping through into the human dimension.
But Ber’s older sister Maeve thinks they can find a magical solution—conjuring a demon specifically to monitor Ber’s blood sugar. Instead, they conjure a potentially dangerous Mystery demon. Sure, the demon can sense Ber’s blood sugar, but the sisters wonder what else the demon might be able to do, and what their motives truly are.
Then a desperate Messenger demon arrives: Mom, Dad, and Grandma Orla have been trapped by a rogue coven who are attempting to open a permanent portal to the demon dimension! The sisters must gather a group of witches, pile into the family’s old station wagon, and work together to save their family and stop the portal from opening.
To avert disaster—and keep her family safe—Ber must decide if she can trust her new friends and the Mystery demon she conjured.
